Comox Valley Record

The Comox Valley Record was established in 1986 and employs 22 very talented full time staff. We excel in reporting news and delivering advertising information to 22,000 homes & businesses in the Comox Valley. We have the only accredited and audited Flyer Distribution System (FDSA) with a proven track record of delivery. We invest considerable time in hiring the most capable individuals to deliver for us and have a team of more than 200 carriers and drivers.

We have partnered with Pulse Research who has collected more than 1600 surveys from our readers throughout Vancouver Island and can now offer “valuable” market results based on a business’s type that will map out the spending habits of our readers over the next 12 months.

We are a division of BC’s largest independent newspaper company Black Press Ltd., and have sister divisions in more than 80 communities. Our founder/owner David Black lives in Victoria, BC and started the company back in the 70s.

Collectively we have over 257 years of experience in advertising design and marketing, reporting on local breaking news, sports, community events and topics that are important to the people of the Comox Valley. We make a positive difference and offer support to hundreds of local charities and non-profit organizations who remind us each year of the impact the local newspaper has for them.

Our industry, like many others, is going through a transition from “old school” to “tech savvy” and we have taken on the challenge with great enthusiasm. On average we have 27,000 unique visitors to comoxvalleyrecord.com every month and lead the way in Facebook & Twitter traffic. Video news reporting is also quickly becoming part of our business.
