Spring Fling & Easter Things

Saturday, March 24th
11am – 2pm
Admission by donation
Courtenay and District Museum – 207 Fourth Street, Courtenay
There is a lot in store at the museum’s Spring Fling and Easter Things event.
The ever-popular petting zoo (courtesy of Shamrock Gumboot 4-H Club) gives folks a chance to meet lambs, kids (baby goats), ducks, geese, bunnies and chickens.
The day’s special guests include Magical Faces who will paint faces for a small fee, and the Hot Chocolates Easter Rabbit who will be at the museum between 12:30 and 1pm to hand out delicious chocolate samples. This year volunteers from Project Watershed will be bringing along their mascot Newton Newt.
The museum’s own Elasmosaur mascot will be making an appearance for photo opportunities. At 1pm it’s the race of the mascots as Newton and the Elasmosaur compete to see who is the fastest.
If you’re feeling crafty, you can make an Easter hat and enter it in a contest.
Several games and crafts are planned for the fling. There will be a Dinosaur Egg Hunt, “guess how many treat’s” contest, carrot toss, pin the tail on the rabbit and enter to win door prizes.
We hope you can join us. Admission is by donation with half the proceeds going to the Shamrock Gumboot 4-H Club.
